I am an independent, completely unattached writer, available for all projects individual or communal, big or small, round or fat, poetic, sardonic, obsessive or just plain love stories about smoked cheese.

My writing style is adaptable and suitable for both digital and print media. I am interested in contributing SEO content, web content, printed features and articles, blogs, social media, press releases, promotional material and book projects.

I currently contribute to the official matchday programme of Leeds United Football club. I am also a freelance writer for Perform Group, who are a digital media company based in Leeds. Perform supply news content, on-the-whistle live match reports, match previews and reaction pieces to several respected football websites, including the FA Premier League. Since 1994 I have been a contributing writer to the Leeds United independent supporters magazine The Square Ball, which continues today.

My recent work also includes supplying blog articles on general travel themes to the Travel Parking Group, a meet and greet airport parking group based in Leeds. For the last three years I have been contributing articles to James Brown's Sabotage Times website and also to the Leeds lifestyle website My Life in Leeds. On a freelance basis I worked for 18 months until October 2013 for the Press Association's 'Content for Marketing' department, which provides custom news feed, articles and social media content for clients such as business services providers, healthcare specialists, financial services organisations, and technology and travel operations. In recent years I have also had articles and letters published in FourFourTwo magazine, Leeds Guide, FQ Magazine, Junior Magazine and the Reader's Digest. Finally, I contribute Blog posts to the website of the company Beanstalk Toys.

For most of 2013 and 2014 I have been working on compiling a definitive history of Elland Road Football Ground, which I started in 2011, but placed on hold whilst I completed my first book project (detailed below). Such a book has never been attempted before and includes the development of the stadium, the changing environment in the surrounding area and the history and anecdotes surrounding the many features that make up the matchday experience. The book includes many memories and comment from various well-known Leeds United writers and personalities such as Howard Wilkinson and Bill Fotherby and has a foreword by David Batty. This has been a long term project which I am about to complete and is scheduled to be published by Pitch Publishing in February 2015.

All White: Leeds United's 100 Greatest Players cover. In November 2012 I published my book 'All White: Leeds United's 100 Greatest Players' through Pitch Publishing. The book was compiled during 2012 and was based on a new fans' vote conducted in conjunction with Leeds United. The book includes extensive biographies with fresh insight and stats on all 100 players. I worked closely with the publishers and designers sourcing photos and creating the layout and design elements. I also produced all the additional fan and celebrity features for the book. You can keep updated with news and announcements on the book via a Facebook page, which includes some photos from the launch events and links to various articles on the books' release:
